Edinburgh, home of Dr Łyszczyński, current state.
On arriving in Edinburgh, Chopin put up at the Douglas Hotel, at 35 St Andrew’s Square, which was then the most elegant hotel in the city. Chopin spent the most time while in Edinburgh at the home of the homoeopathist Dr Adam Łyszczyński, at 10 Warriston Crescent. Hospitably received every time following his travels to Scottish estates near and far, Chopin found a haven in Edinburgh in the home of his compatriot, with whom he became good friends. Chopin’s room was situated on the first floor.
